Payne Manufacturing Company Limited started in business in Canada in 1952 manufacturing metal giftware. Over the years, the company focus turned more industrial and the giftware products became dormant.

In 1997, we started seeing some of our original barware in antique stores. As all of the original tooling was still on our die racks, we decided to re-introduce selected items from our 1950's giftware line using the original tooling - just like we did 50 years ago!

We also offer custom manufacture and machining of metal parts for all types of products in a wide range of industries.

Let us know your specific needs and we'll be pleased to work out a quotation. From 1" aluminum and copper shot glasses to 5 foot tankards, no job is too small or large for us to handle.

Tumblers

As a child visiting our cottage at Sauble Beach, my brother, sister, and I each had our own tumbler. I had the blue tumbler. Now that I have children of my own we make the yearly trek back to the cottage with our friends and have stared a new tradition. Our son and daughter and our friends two boys now  share in the tradition of having their own tumbnler colour. It is amazing to see teenagers insist on maintaining this tradition. It is such a simple tradition but it inspires wonderful memories with fantastic friends. I look forward to seeing the tradition carry on through the generations!

Childhood Memories

I remember my Grandmother had a set of these tumblers at her cabin in Northern Minnesota. The cabin had a prime style pump in the kitchen for drinking water. The colored metal tumblers were on the shelf by the pump. Each of us kids had a color that was our favorite, so that would be "OUR GLASS". I remember the water stayed really cold in them and we could take them outside without getting yelled at that they would break. I loved those tumblers!!

Ice-cold Drink Memories

I loved drinking out of our "sock cups". My mom would give me an empty tumbler and tell me to "put its sock on" so I wouldn't freeze my hands. After I dressed it with the terry sleeve, she would pour iced Kool-Aid or milk into it. Wow, nothing was colder. I grew up in the hot, humid part of Texas, where having a cold drink on a summer day was golden!
